Ever been so captivated by a book that when you go to put it down you feel as if your leaving a friend behind? I have!

Promise Me This is just one of those kinds of books. From the first chapter to the last words printed on the last page I was taken by the events and adventure of each characters' life.

Mix in the tumultuous Titanic and World War I and you have a book that doesn't lack for heroism. I love that a book like Promise Me This can be clean and real without compromising either of those aspects. A love story by all definitions but never sappy or overdone. Well worth the read and even a second read.

Book Review for Tyndale House

I am super excited to be part of an incredible blog tour for this amazing book.

I am a huge fan of fiction works, but there was no twisting my arm to read this book. I will not blink when given the chance to read a Joel Rosenberg novel. The Tehran Initiative kept true to this author's excellent and thrilling writing as an offshoot of current and future likely scenarios of world events. I believe the novel gave me a record speed in reading. 459 pages would normally be long for me!

The fascinating bringing of the plot and characters together was well done. It resonates well with current events in light of a biblical back light. How things play out in the end times world was done with pretty good realism. To me, it is more meaningful and intriguing that just a plain old made up fiction work with no larger point or purpose.

As a critical point, since this is a critique, the introduction of so many "complex-names" characters made me refers to the list of characters at the book quite a bit and made me have to pause and give thought to who was who- but at least a list of characters was thought of to be included. Also, the appearance of the 12th Imam was an interesting twist but threw me off a bit as I didn't think this person could even be hinted to as the "Anti-Christ". Iran's saber rattling only needs the thought of the Imam arriving as a catalyst for its desire for cataclysmic events. However, my pre-conceived ideas should not detract from the author's imagination as I followed the storyline with mine.

Also, the love interest is a must and was included. I do wish the book had more finality with that and with the total wrap-up of world and biblical events-but perhaps that is why this is a series!

BookSneeze Featured Book Review

Love You More is a book centered around the life of Jennifer Grant and how she became an adoptive mother. I love the thought of adoption and was very eager to dive into Love You More and discover more about what to me is a great mystery, the adoption process.

My family and I have never been closely involved with adoption and for me this was the deepest look into this process. Unfortunately, I found that it was hard to connect personally with the author. The book is spotted with wonderful details about this family's struggle to adopt from Guatemala, yet I feel it should have been listed as a autobiography instead. Rather than the majority of the book being about the adoption it seemed more about the author, her past, her likes and dislikes, her struggles in the adoption process, etc.

I know this book will be an encouragement to those going through adoption. I just strain to see how those not involved in this process will enjoy the read. No disrespect is intended to the author! Her life is and was full of interesting events and chapters. I was just hoping for a book with adoption as its focal point and not the authors life story. I would have loved to have seen more of the ins and outs of the adoption process and a bit less "bunny trails".

Included in the back of Love you More are several resource pages for anyone currently interested or involved in an adoption.

If you have a horse lovin' youngin' in your family this is the book to buy! My own child happens to be one such youngster and loves anything and everything HORSE related. That's why we found Dandi Daley Mackall's Backyard Horses, Horse Dreams to be a fantastic book.

I loved that Daley invited us into Ellie's world and that we felt comfortable visiting. Not to mention the tid bits here and there of "Horse Talk" spread throughout the book. Which any good horse lovin' youngin' absolutely eats up!

I encourage each of you to join Ellie and her family and learn more about unexpected answers to prayer and God's perfect timing.

Book Review for Book Sneeze

As if the first few weeks of college aren't bad enough when trying to adjust to your "new" environment, throw in a Christian young person attempting to jump into secular university life and your looking at the makings of a huge spiritual battle.

If you happen to know one such freshman and want to send some encouragement their way I highly recommend the book, Don't Check Your Brains at the Door, by Josh McDowell & Bob Hostetler. Both authors have used this book to cover a wealth of ideas and philosophies your young person has or will be battling with in their minds. Strong Biblical answers for difficult questions sums up the meat of this book.

Your biggest challenge? Getting that freshman to add Don't Check Your Brains at the Door to their required reading for freshman year!

Same Life, New Story by Jan Silvious is a wonderful book focused on helping women look past their current difficulties in life and trust that the Lord has better things in store. The content is a very easy read, but can take some time to finish due to the 252 total pages. Ms. Silvious has a very well trained mind for all things "life management" and I found her advice and wisdom to be just what I needed. I like her style! She's to the point, but without harsh judgment!

If your facing a difficult situation right now, I'd say run, don't stop and RUN to get this book and read it. It will be well worth your time.

The first thing I noticed was the weight of this item. It is a very sturdy piece and appears that it would hold up well.

My only disappointment is that the bangle didn't fit. I have slightly larger hands and found it impossible really to get the bangle on. After asking my Mother to try the bangle on, I discovered it did fit her wrist. So, I say all that to say that when purchasing a bangle, size should be an important consideration.
